Experts call it "employee disengagement"...

...and it's common among blue-collar workers and other labor and service industry employees.  Compared to white-collar workers, blue-collar workers have a significantly lower sense of divine purpose, calling, and giftedness in relation to their work.  They consistently see themselves as less connected to their workplaces both strategically and relationally than do white-collar workers.  As a result, job performance and job satisfaction decline, while alienation and frustration grow.

But workers respond positively to biblical instruction about the nature of work and the value of diligent labor. Below, Kent Duncan describes what he did to address the "blue-collar challenge."
